01What is Safentura?
Safentura is a trail-safety app for hikers, walkers, runners and cyclists. It brings community reports, official safety information and GPX routes together on one map.
02Is Safentura a navigation app?
No. Safentura is designed as an additional safety layer, not as a replacement for a dedicated navigation app. You can import GPX routes and use Safentura alongside the navigation app you already prefer.
03What can users report?
Users can report changing trail conditions such as fallen trees, flooded paths, blocked access, mud, damaged bridges, overgrown sections and other problems that may affect a route.
04Can other users confirm a report?
Yes. People who reach the same place can confirm whether a reported problem is still present or indicate that it appears resolved. This helps keep community information more current.
05What official warnings can Safentura show?
Where supported data is available, Safentura can display information such as severe weather warnings, wildfire detections, flood warnings and hunting-related closures.
06Can I import my own GPX routes?
Yes. You can import a GPX route and view it together with nearby community reports and supported official safety information.
07Can Safentura monitor a route in the background?
Yes. When route monitoring is active and the required permissions are granted, Safentura can use your location in the background and notify you about relevant information ahead.
08What happens if I have no internet connection?
Some features need connectivity, but a new trail report can be stored temporarily on your phone while you are offline and sent once an internet connection returns.
09Does Safentura track my location all the time?
No. Location is used only for features that need it, such as route monitoring, proximity alerts, creating a report and showing your current position. Background location is used while route monitoring is active and permission has been granted.
10Is Safentura free?
Core community safety functions are available without Premium. Premium adds extra features such as unlimited routes, two active mobile devices and a personal route Heatmap.
11What is the personal Heatmap?
The personal Heatmap is a Premium feature that builds a visual history from areas covered while route monitoring is active during your Premium period.
12How long do community reports remain active?
Report validity depends on the type of issue. Temporary conditions may expire sooner, while other reports can remain active longer. Confirmations can help keep relevant information current.
13Can I report incorrect or inappropriate content?
Yes. Safentura includes a mechanism for reporting content that may be incorrect, inappropriate or abusive so it can be reviewed.
